How Can I Help?

If you would like to help with local programs associated with Amma’s Tucson programs, you can do so through a couple different ways.

Donate Money

If you would like to donate money, please make checks payable to …..

Any donations made to the local Tucson program are utilized to meet the costs associated with organizing the events. For more information about where your donations are utilized, please see the General FAQ Section of our website.

Donate Time

Volunteers play a key role in organizing the Tucson events every year. Without the help of individuals like you, we would be hard pressed to organize and deliver the local programs.

What do our volunteers do? 

Volunteers can serve in various capacities before, during, and after each program. Volunteers are assigned duties based on the individual’s availability, type of task that needs to be done, and prior experience. Volunteers may be assigned various duties such as:

• Usher for the Evening program

• Setup/breakdown of the program Hall

• Answering attendee’s questions

• Homa setup and support

• And more….!

How Can I Volunteer?

If you'd like to volunteer to help with the annual Tucson Karunamayi event, please email volunteer@tucsonkarunamayi.org and tell us a bit about yourself, such as:

When are you available (take a look at the event schedule to see where you might fit in)?

• we'll need volunteers to set up the hall the day of the evening discourse/darshan
• we'll need volunteers for various things the day of the individual blessings, starting from about 8am to about 2-3pm
• we'll need volunteers at the homa to help set up, help with the food, and afterward to take down tents and help pack up

Do you have any previous experience volunteering for Karunamayi?

Do I have to commit to a minimum number of hours or specific duties?

We understand that individuals are volunteering their time and services therefore we do not have a set requirement of hours or time. Even if you can volunteer for a few hours during one of the programs, we will try to accommodate you as best possible.

Please keep in mind that we may not always be able to meet your desired role for volunteer project. We will try to fit volunteers as best possible keeping in mind the tasks that need to be completed. The Tucson group firmly beliefs in working together. For us, there is no task large or small. We all aim to do all that we humanly can to help each other out in order to organize these programs for Amma and our wonderful Tucson community.

Please note: It is not uncommon for individuals to believe that volunteers are granted special privileges for their services. This is not true. Volunteers are not privy to additional details. Nor are they granted exclusive opportunities to meet with Amma.
